It is reported that things got ugly today at an anti-gambling rally today in Montgomery.  Those connected to the gambling industry apparently physically took over the stage of an anti-gambling event near the Alabama Statehouse-even refusing to heed orders by the capital police to leave.  OA news has live streaming here.

Thankfully we don’t see as much of the side effects as Macon County, but Lee County Family Court certainly sees it’s share of desperately poor families who are that way in part because they have donated their checks to the bingo machines down Highway 85.  It’s an addiction that destroys families.  How depressing it must be to be addicted to giving away your own family’s food money.
